In the spring of 2023, Rochelle (familiarly called Shelley) published Lies, Naps, and Road Signs: Memories and Thoughts of an Octogenarian, a memoir that explores some of life's most ubiquitous conundrums, such as the quandary of growing old and the universality of death. "When I set out to publish a collection of my writings," explains Shelley, "I never expected the result to be great fame or wealth. To be honest, I wasn't thinking about the end result at all. My goal, or purpose, was to preserve my memories and thoughts for myself while I could still remember them. And to give my family and friends insight into my life, my feelings, and my perception of aging."
