Personalized Editing

Proofreading: This is the most common editorial service and focuses on grammar, typos, spelling, and punctuation.
Copyediting: This service provides an overall insight into your work and includes commentary on plot and character development, consistency, citations, and more. Your editor will offer suggestions and advice on content, structure, and style. Basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation proofreading is included.
Developmental Editing: Sometimes clients have finished their book but know for certain that it needs help. This is where Emerging Ink Solutions comes in. Need assistance further warping a character's personality? Do you have the knowledge for your non-fiction historical account but need guidance in locating and utilizing citations? Need help deepening the plot of your YA novel? Is your self-help book lacking structure? Developmental editing services can help.

Format adjustments on manuscripts made by Emerging Ink Solutions are based on the commonly-accepted rules of formatting for books. Because publishers have certain in-house formatting requirements for manuscripts dependent upon preference, some adjustments might not be applicable. The editor will be in constant contact with the client.
Non-fiction authors, if your book includes extensive footnotes/endnotes, citations, a bibliography, or an index, you might be quoted additional fees for advanced formatting assistance.
